Gaming Laboratories International testing

GLI (Gaming Laboratories International) undertook to thoroughly test AI Factory's Google Play product "Backgammon Free" for fair play. They took the app’s sources and created a build that they confirmed was identical to the version 2.241 in release on Google Play at the time (2.241 was published 5 October 2017 and in release until 24th May 2018, so in public release 7 1/2 months) .

The prime purpose of this was to establish that the dice rolls were fair, showing no favour to either the human player or CPU player. Analysis of the sources and tests conducted led GLI to the conclusion that dice throws showed no evidence of favour and that it was therefore reasonable to accredit the app as following “fair play”.

In addition to this, extensive tests were untaken to examine the random number generator to see if this was delivering reasonable random numbers for the purpose of this app, which it was determined that it was. The commonly used and well-known method used is a Linear congruential generator (LCG), which delivers plausible pseudo-random numbers (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_congruential_generator.). The full details of the RNG and fair play analysis can be found in the certified PDF file link below, which fully describes the analysis completed.
